Packing Party!

An update from Team Member, Patience:

Our team got together last night to Pack and Pray. We had a great time!
In all we have 11 checked bags which is mostly donations/humanitarian aid for the orphanage. So we each will take 1-2 bags. Most of the supplies were baby items like diapers, snacks, clothes, bottles, ointment. Some were general hygiene supplies like body wash, soap, hand sanitizer, and tampons. One team member has some deflated soccer balls for a school in Haiti and some french dictionaries.

We are hoping the airline will waive their fees for the checked bags since it is humanitarian aide. If not, we have some budgeted money for "missions supplies" and some money was also donated to cover supplies as well.

We discussed travel plans and answered last minute questions.

We leave Early Sunday morning!! Meet at COS at 5:30 AM!!! (We don't have to be awake, just present!)
Here is our Itinerary for travel  (Travel times are rounded off to make it simpler to read!)
Sunday January 19th:
Depart Philly 8 AM
Arrive Florida 11 Am
Depart Florida 12 noon
Arrive Haiti 2pm

We return Friday January 24th:
Leave Haiti 9:15 AM
Arrive Florida 11:30 AM
Leave Florida 2 PM
Arrive Philly 5pm

We will probably be traveling in country on Tuesday or Wednesday to Archaie (a school in Haiti that our church supports) and Child Hope (another missions agency that some team members have worked with in the past) and the Three Angels Farm - hopefully all in one day. www.threeangelshaiti.org

Our prayer requests were for:
-Safety (during travel. Some of the team was nervous due to the pastor in Haiti being martyred recently)
-Health (some team members get sick easily or had bug bites concerns. Everyone has their shots and malaria meds!)
-Travel doesn't get delayed/no weather problems since it might snow tomorrow
-No worries about jobs/families/concerns back home (some people were dealing with work and family crises recently)
-Be able to accomplish group and individual goals - find out the needs, be able to help, find out the mission/goals of Three Angels, etc
-Be able to get info we need to be able to get COS behind orphan care
